Let's Dance Macarena

Several months ago before I ended my first grade, I showed to my Ibu (mother) how I learned to dance Macarena at school but it was difficult for her to follow me. She finally searched it at Youtube and I was glad she found it.

It seems this video is easy to follow and Ibu looks happy she can learn how to dance Macarena easily now so we both can dance together for fun and exercise. It will be called Coatesville Creative Connections VIII. My Dad will come with me and I will be awarded with a ribbon. Since last month, I have sold around 45 boxes so far and still have around 10-12 boxes at home. Enjoy and happy holidays! I made this at my class. Ibu was so proud of me. She said I was such a good 5 years old artist. Ibu helped me to make this small project for my class. She is very creative by attaching cereals as Christmas ornaments. Thank you, Ibu. I bought this ring at school for my Ibu's Christmas present. It was a pitty, her fingers were too small to wear it but she was still happy and kept that present as her special treasure. We had so much snow last year and Ibu and I made our first snowman in a different shape. It looked funny but we had lot of fun. He he . . . I was in my home and enjoyed seeing my Christmas tree. I helped Ibu in decorating it. Christmas eve with my brother and sisters after Christmas eve service at our church. We had so many foods and enjoyed our delicious dinner that Ibu had cooked. I was with other children in the Christmas eve service at church.

Do you think about giving things to others when it's not Christmas or their birthday? God wants us to keep giving--all year long! When we keep giving, we keep showing God's love to others. So don't get tired of giving to others.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Friendship (2)

Friendship is spending time with someone you trust and enjoy.

Bible Story; Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35)

Memory Verse: "A friend loves at all times. He is there to help when trouble comes. " (Proverb 17:17)

Day 1
Read Proverbs 17:17

God created friendship. He's an expert on it, and He wants to tell us how to be a true friend in the Bible. If you want to have and be a true friend, who better to advicse you than God? A TRUE friend loves you and is there for you. You have to CHOOSE to be that kind of friend.

Who are you choosing to love right now even though it's challenging? It might be someone who's really getting on your nerves or has said or done something that's hurt you. Write I will choose to love and that person's name on 3 index cards and put them where you can see them daily.

THANK god for your friends.

Day 2
Read Galatians 5:13

You can be a TRUE friend with your actions, like the way you serve a friend. God doesn't just want us to read about serving others. He wants us to put His Word into action! How could you serve the friend whose name you wrote down in Day 1? could you help them with something at school, give them your time and attention, or even make them something yummy to eat?

Write at least 2 ways you can serve that friend and put those ways into action today or this week.

ASK God to show you ways to serve your friends.

Day 3
Read Thessalonians 5:11

You can be a TRUE friend with your words. We must be aware and very careful when choosing our words. God wants us to buuild up those around us with our words, not tear down and discourage with our words. We build up with words of encouragement, truth, and love even if other friends aren't doing that for us right now.

Write the words of today's verse on a paper or plastic cup. From a supply of pennies or nickels, drop a coin in the cup every time you speak words that build up and encourage your friend from Day 1. See how long it takes to fill up the cup. Use the money to help someone out!

LOOK for opportunities to build up with your words.

Day 4
Read colossians 3:13

You can be a TRUE friend by forgiving. Sometimes being hurt or embarrassed by a friend and our wrong reaction can derail a friendship. God tells us in today's verse what to do to keep our relationships on track . . . FORGIVE! It is natural to want to strike back. Our feelings aren't wrong, but what we do can be right or wrong. It is amazing how God heals the hurt when we make the choice to forgive.

Make a cross out of sticks, construction paper, straws, etc. Hang it in your room as a reminder to choose forgiveness because of how God forgives you. Think of the friend from Day 1 . . . do you need to forgive him or her for anything?

KNOW that God forgives you and you can forgive your friends.

In April edition, I learned about FRIENDSHIP. FRIENDSHIP is spending time with someone you trust and enjoy. A true friend will help you believe.

Day 1

Read Mark 16:15

Isn't it hard to keep good news to yourself? How about if you just won a trip to Disney World? You'd tell a friend, right? Just like you would want to tell your friend the good news of your triip, a TRUE friend wants to tell others about Jesus and waht He did for us on the cross. That is the best news anyone could possibly get!

THANK God for sending Jesus to die on the cross for you.

Day 2

Read John 3:16

Do you know what you would say if you wanted to tell someone about who Jesus is? Today's verse lays out exactly what God wants someone to know about who jesus is and what He has done for them. We know from this verse that if we believe in Jesus (which means asking Him to forgive us and to be our Savior), He will, and we can live forever with Jesus in heaven. Look closely at the four main parts of this Scripture:
God loved God gave We believe We receive

Practice saying what you would tell a friend about Jesus and what He has done for them. Here are some questions to help: Who does God love? Who did God give? What do we need to believe? What will we receieve when we believe?

ASK God for courage to tell your friends about Jesus.

Day 3

Read Romans 5:8

You can also help a friend believe in Jesus by telling her if you've asked Jesus to be your Savior and how it happened. What's your story? It is really cool to hear all of the different stories of how people have received God's gift of love, forgiveness, and eternal life through Jesus. When we hear how God has worked in poeple's lives to help them know Him and trust Jesus, it grows our faith.

Ask some of the people in your life about how they asked jesus to be their Savior. Watch your faith grow!

LOOK for friends who need to know about Jesus.

Day 4

Read Matthew 5:16

Another way to help a friend believe in Jesus is by the way you live. God wants our actions to reflect Him, or as this verse says it, to "shine" for Him. Your friends can see God shine in you when you obey Him and try to be like jesus. Did you know that when you choose kindness, compassion, and forgiveness that you shine for Jesus? When you choose gentleness, self-control, patience, and peace, you also shine for Jesus.

Write the words of matthew 5:16 on a card and tape it to your bedside lamp. Every time you turn on your light say this verse and ask God to help you SHINE so that your friends will see God in you.

KNOW God wants you to shine for Him.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Discipline

Last Sunday I went to church and attended to Sunday School. I learned about DISPLINE with a Bible's story taken from Matthew 4:1-11 and a memory verse given from 1 Timothy 4:8

"Training the body has some value. But being godly has value in every way. It promises help for the life you are now living and the life to come."

DISCIPLINE is doing what you need to do now so you can grow stronger.

The First Day of the Second Week

I read 2 Timothy 3:17

If you want to know God better, remember His words. That means knowing (understanding and memorizing) and applying (putting what you know in action) Scripture. Why is that important? So you can be PREPARED. The Bible is like a LIGHT that helps you see where to go and what to do. It helps you make wise choices NOW so you'll be stronger for the future.

Use "PREPARED" to make your own acrostic of God-approved "good things" you can read about in the Bible, like the example below:
P - Pray continually
R - Reflect God's love
E - Enjoy God's creation
P - Praise God
A - Avoid temptation
R - Respect my parents
E - Encourage others
D - Draw close to God

THANK God for providing the Bible to help you navigate through life.

The Second Day of the Second Week

I read John 15:17

A command is an order. It's not iffy or optional. Plain and simple, know-ing and applying today's verse means you love others. When we study the Bible, we realize that how we treat others is very important to God. It's one of things God wants us to know about Him. And if you want to know God even better, read, memorize, and apply His Word.

Show love to your family by making them a loveable snack: layer fruit, nuts, and miniature masrshmallows in clear cups. Serve with a smile!

ASK for God's help as you learn to love others like He loves you.

The Third Day of the Second Week

I read Ephesians 6:7

When someone asks for your help, are you enthusiastic? Energetic? Sincerely committed? If you answered "no" to any of these, you aren't serving wholehearedly. One way to put more "umph" into serving others is to remember that it's another command from God, and that following this command wholeheartedly pleases Him. If you want to know God better, remember His words.

The Fourth Day of the Second Week

If you want to know God better, remember His words. Today's words to remember are short and sweet: forgive others. How should you forgive them? Just like God forgives you. Remembering God's words will help you be PREPARED. They remind you to love others, serve others, and forgive others. In short, remembering God's words means doing things God's way.

Ask a parent or grandparent to tell you about a time when it was hard to forgive someone, but he or she made the wise choice and did so anyway.

KNOW that you please God when you forgive others.

Ibu is my sweet mommy. She is very helpful. Several days before Halloween, she helped me to make a Musketeer Mask and two hand-fans. She is very creative. She showed me that we both didn't need the new stuff to make them. We used the things that we already had.

Most of us haven't nearly died in order to help someone (like Epaphroditus needs before ours, we sometimes discover something new in ourselves, a Christ-likeness we didn't know was there. This can please God and increase our faith.

I THANK God for the sacrifice Jesus made.

Second Day

I read Romans 12:10 & Psalm 37:5a

Sometimes taking care of others isn't just about sacrifice. It's also about commitment, promosing to follow a certain course. You can be committed to God, to other believers, or to sticking with someone who needs you. The Bible is full of people who've shown this kind of dedication, keeping their promises even when it was difficult. When we do this, we grow and learn that there is strength in us that we didn't even know existed.

I ASK God to show me my own strength of commitment.

Third Day

I read Philippians 2:29-30; 4:4

There are some things about ourselves we only learn by experience and by trusting that what the Bible says is true. In Philippians, where we find this week's Bible story, we're told to "rejoice in God always." And that's how Paul told the church in Philippi to make a difference when Epaphroditus returned. Sometimes caring for someone also means you share in their victories, and you often learn that their victories are your victories, too!

I LOOK for reasons to rejoice.

Fourth Day

I read Hebrews 10:25; Romans 12:5

Christians need to have good relationship with other believers. If we are part of Christ's body, an important part of discovering who we're meant to be is finding our role in the body of believers, just as those in the church at Philipi did. And part of that role is coming together with and encouraging other Christians. We make a difference in their lives and ours when we encourage other people.

I KNOW I have a place in the body of Christ.

I learned about INDIVIDUALITY with a memory verse:
"How you made me is amazing and wonderful." (Psalm 139:14)

INDIVIDUALITY is discovering who you are meant to be so you can make a difference.

The Bible story I heard was about The Onesimus (Philemon 1:1, 8-12)

First Day for the First Week

I read Philemon 1:10-11

"Onesimus was running away from his master and from who he was meant to be, but when he met Paul and learned about Jesus, everything changed. Turning your life over to God-letting Him be your 'master'-changes your direction and helps you make a difference."

In my prayer, I wanted God would lead me to make a difference, this week, this month and this year.

THANK to God for leading me.

Second Day

I read Acts 9:4-8, 18-20

"These verses are about Paul, the same guy who led Onesimus to Jesus. After meeting Jesus, Paul focused his life on leading people to the Lord. Obeying and following Jesus isn't just about going to church and reading the Bible. It means looking at life from an entirely new viewpoint."

I closed my eyes, imagined being like Paul, unable to see. I prayed that God would work in my heart to make me see new ways to make a difference for Him.

ASKING God to show me how to make a difference.

Third Day

I read Philemon 1:8-11, 17

"Philemon was a believer. People met for church in his home, even though Christians were often persecuted. He was also a slave owner with a runaway on his hands. Most slave owners wouldn't have taken Onesimus back, but Philemon may have. That's because belonging to God increases your ability to make hard choices, especially when it means making a positive difference in someone's life."

Finding these verses: John 11:25-26, John 14:6-7, John 17:3

I prayed to see clearly who Jesus was and how He would help me making a difference in someone's life

LOOKING, as I prayed, to hear who God said He was.

Fourth Day

I read Ephesians 2:10

"When you come to believe in Jesus, you become His work of art. No matter how you look or what people think of you, belonging to God makes you into a masterpiece which God is developing each day into something beautiful. Doing the good works He puts in front of you helps you develop into who Hw wants you to be."

I went outside, looked at the things God created and imagined Him designing me.

KNOWING that I'm made in the image of a Master!

Last Sunday I was absent going to Sunday School. I was sick, getting flu with high fever.
Below Ibu will help me to write down the lesson from Sunday School twho weeks ago.

We still learned about WISDOM with Memory Verse:
"Choose my teaching instead of silver. Choose knowledge rather than fine gold. Wisdom is worth more than rubies." (Proverbs 8:10-11a)

Wisdom is worth searching for, finding out what you should do and doing it.

I heard a Bible story about A Wise Woman (1 Kings 10:1-13).

First Day for the Second Week

I read 1 Corinthians 1:25

God gave us brains and He wants us to use them. Going to schol, learning, and studying are really important and God uses all of these experiences to give us wisdom, BUT we have to make sure God is the one guiding our brains. If we count on our brains alone, it could lead to trouble, because our brains aren't perfect-only God is!

I read Proverbs 19:11

We can't always trust our opinions, which is why it's important to look to God for wisdom instead. Here's an example: Imagine your brother is being mean, so in your opinion you should hit him. But in God's wisdom, you should treat him the way you want to be treated. Think about where your opinion could lead. Then think about where God's wisdom could lead. Wisdom is worth searching for; you just have to know where to look!

Think about a problem or choice you're facing. Fill in the blanks, and then pray about it:
In my opinion, I should...
In God's wisdom, I should...

ASK God to help you make this wise choice.

Third Day of the Second Week

I read Proverbs 8:10-11a

Wisdom is worth searching for, but we have to be really careful where we get it. The world around us tries to tell us what is wise, but God's standards are not the same as the world's standards. It's important to know the difference. For instance, the world tells us that money is the most important thing, but God says the opposite (Matthew 6:19-21).

LOOK to God for wisdom.

The Fourth Day of the Second Day

I read 1 Corinthians 2:6

It's important to look only to people who love you unconditionally (love you no matter what) for wisdom. This is because those people want what's best for you, even if it's hard for them. God, your family, and your Small Group Leader are all good choices of people to look to for wisdom because of how much they love you.

Ask a parent for an example of "bad advice" that they got from someone who didn't love them unconditionally. How can you learn from that story?

KNOW that God loves you no matter what.

Last Sunday was the first day of my Sunday School for the higher level class. It has the name: Upstreet Kids. I had a lot of fun there, meeting with many new friends and learned the new programs, etc.

For the month of September we would learn about WISDOM. Last Sunday we started to learn it. What is WISDOM?

WISDOM is finding out what you should do and doing it. We heard a Bible story about Solomon chooses WISDOM (1 Kings 3:4-28) with a Memory Verse:
'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Provebs 3:5-6), NIV)

First Day for the First Week

I read: Proverbs 3:5-6

It's important to know that God wants to give us wisdom and that He has many cool ways to do it. One way is by putting wise people in our lives so we can learn from them. God gives us wise people because He wants us to know and do what's wise!

I made a list of 3 wise people that I know. They are:
1. Ibu (Mother)
2. Daddy
3. My Teacher, Mrs. Murphy

THANK God that He is so wise.

Second Day for the First Week

I read James 1:5

We know that God wants us to have wisdom, but have you ever wondered how we get it? Besides learning from wise people, we can ask God for wisdom. It doesn't matter when we ask, we can ask Him before we need it and when we need it, and He'll give it to us because He wants us to be wise.

My prayer:

Dear God, please give me a wisdom, so I keep obeying what my Ibu and Dad said everyday at home and my teacher said at the class. Thank you, God. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amin.

It's easy to get advice from TV, magazines, and your friends. But it's important to look to God for WISE advice instead. Not only does God wants us to have wisdom, He is the most qualified to give it. When you need to know what you should do, ask God because He'll always know the answer, every time.

What Ibu Made for Sisy's Birthday?

These are what Ibu made for Sisy's Birthday, a Tumpeng, Indonesian traditional food but Ibu had changed its shape and a birthday cake. She tried to be creatives with her own ways. The chickens looked burning but it weren't. She said it was because of the barbecue sauce she added on them and was little bit overcooked, too - he, he, ... it was same, wasn't it?
Among of other foods, there was a corn cake. You can see small round foods on the picture.

Ibu also made the cake herself. Look, what creative she is! She decorated the number 20 of Sisy's age with Kisses chocolates. Nyum!!

Ibu said that she would make a special cake for my birthday next year. Hmm, I could not wait what kind of decorations she would make on my cake.

Happy Easter everyone!!! I know it is late. It is better than nothing. Ibu didn't have time to make a post before Easter. She was really busy and I was so glad finally she wrote this post this morning.

It was fun at my Sunday school. I colored three pictures when Jesus had last supper with His diciples, three crosses, and Jesus thomb that was opened-it showed that He had been risen from His dead.

I brought home 8 colorful jelly beans that decribed about the colors of Easter:

GREEN is for the palms that they waved at Him as He entered Jerusalem.
PURPLE is for the wine He poured and blessed before He faced His final test.
RED is for the precious blood He died on the cross, suffering to redeem our loss.
PINK, YELLOW and ORANGE are for the dawn that morning when the thomb was empty and hope was reborn.
WHITE is for the dazzling light that awed all who saw Him arisen-the Son of God.

Ibu loves taking pictures of me especially with my own creations. I love drawing. It is one of my favorite activities beside dancing, singing, coloring, playing games, and helping Ibu in cooking, cleaning, and planting. Sometimes I make a story through my drwaings. Celebrating My Birthday

I was so happy last month my whole family celebrated my Birthday and my brother's Birthday. Ibu was so busy cooking for dinner and made a special cake for me and my brother as you see above, an ice cream cake. I helped her making that cake. She also arranged a beautiful fruits on a nice plate as you can see it below. She is a very creative person. I'm so proud of her.

For my Pre-K class, Ibu ordered a very cute cake, a Little Pony cake as I asked her to choose the cake theme if she would like to order one for me. I celebrated my Birthday with my teacher and my friends. Ibu took some pictures of us. I had really happy day. Thank you, Ibu.

When Ibu showed me this picture below several days ago, I said that I like her. Ibu asked me to give her name and I spontaneously said 'Lola' , ha, ha....isn't it cute name for her?? And Ibu suggested me to have an additional name, pinky bear. I thought it was really cute, like everybody at the hospital called me 'Pinky' when I was a baby because my skin color was pink.

So why I wanted her to bring her home, because it was just a simple reason, 'I LIKE HER!!!'

OK, LOLA PINKY BEAR, I can not wait to play around with you in my house and have warm cuddling with you all the night.

Advent & Christmas Presents

Last week I got a very big surprise from Aunt Cathy and Uncle Dan. A packet with 26 assorted gifts inside were all for me. I was so happy and excited. I could not wait to eat everyday my advent chocolate calender and open a gift till Christmas comes.

Thank you Aunt Cathy and Uncle Dan. This is my best advent ever.
